Measure Design and Development

This workshop will introduce participants to the foundational components in designing and developing a measure for scientific research. The workshop will be broken into two parts. First, we will discuss the conceptual issues behind measurement design, including item creation and validity. The second half of the workshop will introduce participants to the basic analyses necessary for measure development. Specifically, we will cover the basics of Exploratory Factor Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis in R. No previous experience with measurement or psychometrics is required, however some experience with R is recommended.
